Tomb fo family Kukoč
- stonemasonry combines tradition and contemporary design, and the best example of this is this unique grave made from white Brač stone. Located on the island of Hvar, the grave clearly stands out from the surrounding monuments through its form and symbolism. The dominant feature is the powerful symbol of omega, a universal sign of closure and eternity. Its monumental form not only draws attention but also conveys a deep symbolic message within the cemetery. In combination with the clean lines of the horizontal slab, the omega creates a sense of permanence and serenity. A special detail is the boat-shaped element designed as a vase, placed right next to the monumental symbol. It adds another layer of meaning – a connection with the sea and sailing, which are strong motifs on the Adriatic and the island of Hvar. The boat as a flower vase symbolises life’s journey, travel, and return, as well as the deceased’s bond with the sea and nature. Unlike other graves that often follow conventional forms, this stonework stands out with its originality, modern approach, and artistic strength. The combination of white Brač stone, precise craftsmanship, and innovative design demonstrates the peak of stonemasonry skill and dedication to detail.
