Stone sculptures and artistic stonemasonry
A stone sculpture develops slowly through the relationship between an idea, a model and the block from which it emerges. Academically trained sculptor Lovre Jaksic creates portraits, figures, reliefs and spatial compositions, supported by the workshop’s knowledge of precise stonework and surface finish.
The gallery includes independent sculptures and work for interiors, gardens, sacred spaces, burial sites and public locations. Each piece requires its own scale, surface and way of receiving natural light.

From model to sculpture in stone
A drawing or model establishes the direction, but the stone reveals its own structure and limits as the work progresses. The sculptor must understand the volume that remains after every cut, the position of natural veins and the way light will rest on a face, fold, edge or quiet plane.
The stone and block size are chosen for the subject, scale and intended location. A finely worked surface can calm the form, while visible tool marks emphasise rhythm and the physical presence of the material. Surface finish is part of the sculpture’s expression.
