Tomb for family Ruža
- our goal is for the stonemasonry works we create to be synonymous with elegance, durability, and outstanding craftsmanship. This grave in Posedarje has been made from massive blocks of white Brač stone, a material whose purity and richness give the monument strength, dignity, and timeless beauty. Its carefully considered design reflects the life story and values of the family it commemorates. The most distinctive feature of this headstone is the negative shape of an apple tree, carved into the upright slab. Beside it, a stylised apple has been sculpted as an additional detail. These motifs were not chosen by chance – the family had been highly successful apple growers for generations, and the apple became their symbol and a representation of life itself. In this way, the grave preserves not only the memory of loved ones but also the story of their work, tradition, and bond with nature. Another remarkable element is the centrally placed vase in front of the headstone. It is a complex stonemasonry solution – four vases seamlessly joined into one harmonious whole. This feature emphasises unity and continuity, while also adding an aesthetic refinement to the monument. The making of such a grave requires great expertise and long experience. The combination of solid stone, precise workmanship, and symbolic design demonstrates how traditional stonemasonry can be united with a contemporary approach. The Posedarje grave shows how white Brač stone, in the hands of skilled stonemasons, becomes more than just material – it becomes a story in stone, a family symbol, and an enduring tribute to generations whose work shaped the community.
