Tomb for the Krešić Family - The saddest story in Croatia:Ema, Vito i Marko

- at Zagreb’s Mirogoj Cemetery stands a unique tomb, designed by Dražen Jakšić and crafted in our Jakšić Stonemasonry Workshop. Made of white Brač stone, it is dedicated to the memory of three young lives and shows how tomb construction can become a work of art filled with deep emotion. Instead of names and dates, the upright stone bears an emotional message from the mother, engraved in her own handwriting. On the stone cover, mosaics were created from the children’s original drawings and signatures, turning personal traces into lasting symbols in stone. The simple lines and surfaces of the white Brač stone allow these details to stand out. The precise letter carving and mosaic execution confirm the mastery of our workshop in combining traditional stonemasonry with contemporary design. At Jakšić Workshop, each headstone and each tomb construction is the result of respect, individual approach, and artistic sensitivity. The Mirogoj tomb remains a lasting testimony to love, memory, and the art of stone.

You can view all our tombs in the gallery of works, where each piece tells its own story in stone.
