Stone Design for Wine Presentation – Pumparela Restaurant

Stone design for wine presentation – Pumparela Restaurant

Our Jakšić workshop proudly presents a new project created for the outdoor area of the Pumparela restaurant – an elegant solution that combines functionality, artistry and the long tradition of stone craftsmanship. As the restaurant offers an impressive wine selection, the goal was to create a specially designed stone wall that serves both as a visual highlight and a functional wine display.

The concept features a wall made of white Brač stone that “opens” in certain sections, forming precisely sculpted niches in which wine bottles are displayed. Next to each bottle, information about the wine is engraved, transforming stone into both an aesthetic and informative element. Projects like this demonstrate how creatively shaped stone can enhance the design of public space, elevating both functionality and spatial experience.

The uniqueness of this design lies in the impression of lightness, achieved despite the solid nature of the material. Contemporary shaping, softened edges and thoughtfully balanced proportions give the stone a surprisingly fluid appearance while preserving its elegance and permanence.

The entire stone realisation was crafted by our workshop, while the design is signed by Dražen Jakšić and Dr. art. Dina Jakšić Pavasović. Alongside the main wine display wall, a sculptural reception counter was created, carved from a single block of Brač stone. Its fluid, folded form makes it a striking functional element used for welcoming guests. The ensemble is complemented by a stone stool designed to harmonise with the overall concept.

This project once again shows how innovative stone design can enrich an exterior, emphasise the identity of a restaurant and create an environment that offers guests a unique visual and functional experience.
